Aspen Stalker on the Loose - Tobey loves horses!

Tobey is obsessed with this beautiful field of horses we drive by each morning!

We drive with the windows down and he cries if I do not stop to say hello.  He's an animal lover just like his mama, I guess!  :) 

We are so thankful for this beautiful adventure.  Thank you to a sweet friend of mine that has donated his Westin points to us for the entire week.  The generosity of our friends is amazing.  We are so thankful and Tobey is enjoying the cool weather so much!

I am ready to get this pooch back in to his happy place - the mountains.  Also super excited to show him something new the last week of July...the sea!

8 Days Left: Lots of coffee, the Ticket & packing

Life as we know it has already changed quite a bit.  Our morning routine in the past consisted of a quick walk before mommy threw on scrubs and rushed to work.

Now, we leisurely take a drive to Starbucks while we listen to our favorite sports talk radio - The Ticket.  We have our coffee (me) and Puppuccino (Tobey) on the front porch.

We then go inside and pack our belongings and talk about how excited / scared / lucky / crazy we are.

8 days left in the big D.  We are almost ready!  First stop?

Practical Pre-Trip Prep (...and a little posing for the camera)

Today's big bucket list adventure falls on the practical side.

We are working together in order to be fully prepared to keep Tobey comfortable and safe by discussing:

* Region-specific flea / tick preventative (different critters in Colorado than Texas!)
* Risks / preparedness for snakes
* A doggie 1st aid kit should he experience nausea, minor injuries or anxiety
* 1st aid techniques should he overheat

Dr. Merrill is an absolute saint and the most knowledgeable, compassionate, intuitive veterinarian I have ever encountered. Her staff is friendly, professional and everyone here feels like a friend.

Because she is so thorough and genuinely loves her patients, she knows each pet's personality - it feels as if your baby is the only patient in her practice.  Her dedication and passion for animals is clear in her excellence of care.

With her help and encouragement, we are excitedly preparing for July 1st!

Wednesday Wag-back : Country Adventure with Cows

Taking a break from packing up my apartment so I can share this Wednesday Wag-back:

2 weeks ago, Tobey and I threw our Southern manners to the wind and invited ourselves along on a country camp-out in Northeast Texas.

Upon arrival, Tobey leaped out of the car making a beeline for several massive, beautiful creatures foreign to him - COWS!

I could barely hold my camera phone up as I giggled at the sight of him optimistically pursuing his new friends.

This is why we are on our mission to travel.  Tobey loves nature.  As soon as we cross city lines, he seems to turn back into a playful, cancer-free pup.

As for his new cow friends, I wonder...is it Friendship or Steak?  Intentions still unclear, but I think I heard Tobey mention becoming vegetarian.

Thankful for my friends that include Tobey and I in their life - we enjoy every second of it.

Monday Morning Puppuccino in the Park

Monday mornings are synonymous with coffee, no?  This morning was a perfect chance to incorporate a small but very yummy bucket list item into our day of packing.

I recently learned of the Starbucks Puppuccino - it is a tiny bit of whipped cream in a cup for your pup!  How cute is that?

Being a special Starbucks trip, I went a little out of my way to the new Starbucks at Maple & Clara in Dallas (near Parkland).  Their staff is incredibly friendly, including Melissa who offered Tobey a Puppuccino immediately upon our arrival!

We took our cups of goodness and our favorite tennis ball to the park near our house.  As you can see, the Starbucks Puppuccino is a hit!

"Whoa - me likey!"

"Got any more?!"

Success!
